Natural Stone Tilers in Taunton

Natural stone tilers. If you are looking for quality tilers based in Taunton please read on. James Perry Decorating & Tiling have been using natural stone for many years. Despite the lengthy fitting process, natural stone is timeless. Besides which it is always bespoke. It is bespoke because no two tiles are ever exactly the same. Natural stone will never date or go out of fashion. Sure, natural stone is expensive. The fitting is more expensive also. However we think it is a price worth paying, particularly if you own a period property. Let our natural stone tilers transform your home. They will add value to it.

Laying natural stone tiles.

Because natural stone tiles are rarely the same thickness, the tiles should be graded before laying. However laying natural stone tiles can be tricky and time consuming. Our natural stone tilers are experienced at this. The tiles need to be checked for blemishes and rust marks etc before laying. Stone tiles also need to be sealed at least twice. We recommend using LTP Matstone on limestone and slate. We like the way it gives a natural look. However it does the job well. When we lay more porous tiles such as teracotta, we often seal three or four times.

Good natural stone tilers always spread adhesive on the floor and back butter the tile as well. This is to ensure one hundred percent coverage and to avoid any voids. We use quality fast set, flexible adhesives. Never try to save money with a cheap, low quality adhesive. It does not pay long term. Always prep the floor well. Also prime the floor before laying. We use Weber PR360. It’s a great primer and penetrates well into the floor.
